The rich rewards of my search for a better life
How I stopped living in worry, fear and self-judgment…and found an easier & more fulfilling life
We can all have the lives we want
As long as I can remember I’ve had a desire to uncover the secrets of being happy and having a rich and wonderful life.
I’m also one of those people who’s heard a million times that we can have everything we set our minds to. I’ve really wanted to believe that but could never accept it. Nope, I’d think. It can’t be. I work really hard and never come close.
I really wanted to be happy and successful. But as I was about to graduate from a fine college, I was grappling with self-doubt and worry about my future that often metastasized into fear.
On top of that, nothing I did seemed to be meaningful or fulfilling. Which was odd because, deep down, I had a strong feeling I had something to offer this world, something important. I just didn’t know what it was.
Then a friend handed me Autobiography of a Yogi. I borrowed Be Here Now from another. Something awakened in me as I read those books — a recognition, a sense of coming home to something profound.
That seed grew into a passion that became a quest and an unquenchable thirst for more. I took this path because I hoped it would make me happier and more fulfilled.
Time passed quickly after college. My search for answers led me to meditation, visiting psychics, diving deeper into spirituality by reading everything I could. First came the Seth books and then one metaphysical book after another. My search for happiness was now exposing me to the inner workings of our world and universe.
Books weren’t enough. I listened endlessly to cassette tapes. I joined a small group of spiritually-inclined people. I sought out workshops and took class after class—sometimes striking gold but never quite uncovering those big, life-changing answers I wanted and knew had to exist.
Finally, in 2004 my moment came: I was introduced to a spiritual guide who, I knew instantly, would be the answer to my prayers. That relationship became my exclusive focus for the next 20 years.
In that time I buried myself in the work, thrilled by my monthly sessions with this remarkable brilliant light. I had found what I’d always desired—unlimited access to wisdom, tools, explanations, and answers to my persistent questions.
The more I learned, the more I applied my new understandings and techniques. Slowly and so subtly, ingrained patterns of worry, fear and self-judgment — along with tenacious beliefs that constrained my ambitions — came to the front of my awareness so I could work with them and ultimately let them go.
Slowly, I found myself with new inner peace, joy and fulfillment I’d never believed I would experience, and the life I wanted.
What sat at the heart of all my changes was that single promise I had heard a million times and now knew was true: You and I—all humans—are far more than we think we are. We can be and do and have so much more than we believe. Plus, I also knew the “how” and “why” it’s true, so I could effectively share it with others.
That led me to years of teaching and spreading my discoveries in limited ways. Then came my posting in-depth responses to people's questions on Quora.com (so far, read by more than 4 million people). And now, that’s led to this...
My passion for spirituality, my ability to write and my love of teaching have all perfectly coalesced and expanded my vision. I just founded Brilliance You Are so I could reach a far broader audience—people like you and me—who want better, easier, more joyful and fulfilling lives and are willing to do what it takes to make it happen.
If you have that desire, or you’re tired of the same old hard, frustrating life, know this…I can tell you, without exaggeration or hyperbole…
We don't have to struggle as we have been. We also don’t have to invest lots of time or money to uncover our brilliant, limitless selves, and enjoy lives filled with what we desire.
I can show you how. The only question now is: Are you ready?
